From My Event Desk: Pre-Valentine Concert Review

The "Love Concert" which was staged at the Agip Recital Hall of the MUSON Centre on Thursday , Feb. 12, 2015 (instead of on the eve of Valentine's day because previously fixed February 14 election)  was mind blowing and memorable.
The stage was well lit with very bold colours that i think, appropriately represented the occasion.
The colour of the Zidjan 5-piece drum set complimented the bright red and black backdrop with a bold V set design. The dark Bosendorfer Grand Piano. read more and see more pix after the cut...

The audience must have been waiting for this day to come as the foyer was almost full before the start time. Media houses whirled around the floors interviewing guests to find out their expectation as well as to promote their brand.
The concert was understandably delayed for about 15 mins as the technical guys had to test ran their sets.

Finally, it was time to start the concert as the expectant guests made their way up the stairs and into the hall. The show was opened by Nomnso, an Alumnus with a soft guitar rondo and then Villa Lobos'  bachianas brasileiras by the strong soprano, Chika.i think it was rather sentimental but must have been the best whet our appetite. An instrumental (Sax) duet of 'The Prayer' by my humble self and Demola came on next, taking the concert a tone higher. We were particularly excited by the funny folklore 'Olomu roro' by Lizzy the soprano, the men had something to say on that.
The string Duo by Remi and Ore was particulaly fun to behold as they each took turns to inmprovise on the 'African Queen on their violins.
Straight to the point, the performance of John Legend's 'All of Me' in a Fuji style K Peace was a show stealer. He wowed the audience by the very unexpected switch from his reggae version into core fuji with talking drums and all. To finally wrap up the show, Imoleayo, the very efficient Jazz saxophonist with his alto sax, thrilled the audience to a Jazz medley that left the audience asking for more but alas, the show was over.
